Mississippi Gulf Coast — January 28, 2026 — The Salvation Army Kroc Center of the Mississippi Gulf Coast is excited to announce the launch of its new Fencing Academy, offering Gulf Coast residents a unique opportunity to experience the fast-paced and dynamic sport of fencing in a fun, safe, and supportive environment.

Designed for youth and adults ages 10 and up, the Fencing Academy introduces participants to the fundamentals of fencing, including footwork, technique, and strategy. Classes are held Thursdays at 5:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m., providing a structured yet welcoming setting for beginners to build agility, focus, coordination, and confidence.

Participants may officially join the Fencing Academy with a one-time $25 registration fee. Monthly fees are $35 for Kroc Center members and $45 for non-members/guests. All fencing equipment is included with class participation, allowing students to focus on learning and skill development without additional costs.

“As much of our programming is driven by member interest, we continually strive to stay engaged with what excites our community,” said Danielle Emery, Kroc Center Director. “This program is unique to the Kroc Center, and we are excited to both elevate and educate participants through the art and athleticism of fencing. As with all of our programs, scholarships are available for those who qualify.”

Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. For more information or to register, visit www.KrocMSCoast.org.
