The Salvation Army's Leadership is Eager to Serve

MS Gulf Coast – The Salvation Army Mississippi Gulf Coast is proud to welcome a new team of dedicated officers who will serve the bottom six coastal counties with passion, compassion, and commitment to community.

Majors Paul & Karen Egan have been appointed as the new Area Commanders for the Mississippi Gulf Coast. With decades of experience in ministry and leadership, the Egans bring a strong vision rooted in service, stewardship, and strengthening community impact. They are excited to lead local efforts in transforming lives through social services, emergency disaster response, and spiritual care.

“We are excited to begin this new chapter on the Mississippi Gulf Coast,” said Major Paul Egan. “Our mission is to meet human needs in Christ’s name without discrimination, and we look forward to working alongside our incredible staff, volunteers, and community partners.”

Joining them at the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center in Biloxi are Captains Bruce & Tavia Williams II, who will serve as the Kroc Congregational Life Officers. The Williamses bring a heart for connecting with the community through spiritual programming and outreach.

Additionally, Major Janna Torgeson will serve as the Corps Officer in Pascagoula, where she will oversee the ministry and programs of The Salvation Army’s Pascagoula Corps. With a deep love for people and a commitment to community-based service, Major Torgeson is dedicated to meeting needs and offering hope to those in Jackson and George Counties.
