Home School Program!

Our homeschool courses are designed with you and your students in mind! We offer extracurricular classes that give your students the ability to socialize, collaborate, work as a team, and get experience in a classroom setting in a safe environment. We believe in Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way they should go, and they will not depart from it.” Our classes are designed with life-giving principles and our teachers are here to serve you!

Registration Fee –

$50 per child until Aug. 21st


Tuition-

$77.00 per 1-hour class for 15 weeks, $39 per 30 minutes class for 15 weeks.

*Scholarships are available to those that qualify

Final payments for the semester are due August 24th, enrollment is open until Aug. 21st.

Classes with fewer than 5 students will not make the final schedule.

Maximum of 10 students per class.

Parents will be notified by Aug. 21st of final schedules

Schedules are not final until payment is made.

Orientation-
Parents will be notified via email of an in-person or virtual orientation before the semester begins on August 24th

Meet the Instructors

JENNIFER WEISS

MUSIC & CREATIVE ARTS COORDINATOR

is a seasoned musician and actress. She was educated at MGCCC and received her Associates of Fine Arts with an emphasis in theatre and music. She has been teaching with The Salvation Army Kroc Center for the last 3 years.

Last year, she began the project of starting a Community Garden. The goal of this garden is to educate people on the lost art of growing your own food while cultivating generosity. The majority of food that is grown will be given away to people in the East Biloxi area who do not have access to fresh produce.

LOURDES WRIGHT

INSTRUCTOR

Lourdes M. Wright has been drawing since she was in elementary. She developed a passion for sketching faces in pencil, then moved on to oils, watercolors, chalks, pastels, and acrylics. She was the Resident-Artist for Michigan State University in 1997, exhibited artwork in Orange Park, FL in 2003, and in 2014 at Peter Anderson Festival.

She graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, a minor in English, then went on to graduate from Law School in 2000.

JERRY CRUSE

INSTRUCTOR

Mr. Jerry is a multi-instrumentalist from the gulf coast and has been performing music for almost 15 years. He received his bachelor’s degree in classical guitar at the University of Southern Mississippi. He has taught privately for many years and is also a member of several well-known bands on the coast such as Blue Magnolia, a southern blues/soul band, and The Baytles, a Beatles cover band where he impersonates the famous Ringo Starr!

ART CLASS

INSTRUCTOR: Lourdes Wright

Art is one of the most beautiful and empowering expressions in life. It is how we bring thoughts and feelings to life. Now, more than ever, Art can convey happiness, hope, love, beauty, and all of those things that are often taken for granted or forgotten. Join my class, and create fun memories while developing and improving your skills and learn about different Artworks by some of the great Masters. You will learn techniques and strokes which will provide you with the necessary skills to create your own masterpiece.

Course Objectives:

  •  Be informed about the History and Evolution of Art
  •  Learn about using the proper tools when creating Art
  •  Explore different Artists and get curious about their Artwork and significance in our society
  •  Hands-on painting/drawing/sketching/coloring/creating
  •  Learn about three-dimensions and depth plus the usage of shadows to create perspective

DEVELOP CONFIDENCE WHEN CREATING ART AND THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS

DRAMA CLASS

INSTRUCTOR: JENNIFER WEISS

Let the drama begin! So excited to go on the journey of growing as an actor with your student. The 8-12-year-old actor can expect an exciting, fun, fast-paced class of acting games, learning the basic principles of acting, history of theatre, and performing in their very own show! The 13+ student can expect to study famous works of drama, perfect their acting technique, and perform in their very own production!

Objectives

  • Learn the fundamentals of acting: expressing emotion, movement, voice, and script/character analysis
  • Create and embody various characters
  • Work as part of an ensemble
  • Perform in a dramatic production

GARDENING CLASS

INSTRUCTOR: JENNIFER WEISS

This class is all about growing together! Ever suck a bug to study insects or make mud pies to evaluate soil texture? This class will give your student the opportunity to learn hands-on in the dirty and get dirty! The curriculum also helps develops life skills, includes career exploration, and provides opportunities for students to culminate the Junior Master Gardener experience with service-learning projects. As students complete areas of study, they can earn different recognition certifications including designation as Certified Junior Master Gardeners. This course does require the purchase of a handbook.

GUITAR CLASS

INSTRUCTOR: JERRY CRUSE

The guitar is a great way for children to express themselves through the art of music. In this class we will learn about the history of the guitar, the various parts of the guitar and how they work, and even some famous songs you can perform for your friends and family. Come join us on this musical journey!

Objectives

  • Learn the fundamentals of the guitar through games and activities
  • Become familiar with the music and its concepts using the guitar
  • Find out about the “greats” that made the instrument so famous
  • Learn how to express oneself and have fun using the guitar

MUSIC CLASS

INSTRUCTOR: JERRY CRUSE

How does it shape the world we live in? Music is an art and this class aims to teach children about the art of music and self-expression through learning activities. We learn, sing, and most importantly have fun. Come join us on this musical journey!

Objectives

  • Learn the fundamentals of music through games and activities
  • Identify various musical instruments and genres
  • Find out about the “greats” that made some of the most popular music throughout history
  • Learn how to express oneself and have fun through singing and musical performance

PIANO CLASS

The piano is a great way for children to express themselves through the art of music. In this class, we will learn about the history of the piano, the various parts of the piano and how they work, and even some famous songs you can perform for your friends and family. Come join us on this musical journey!

  • Learn the fundamentals of the piano through games and activities
  • Become familiar with the music and its concepts using the piano
  • Find out about the “greats” that made the instrument so famous

SCIENCE LAB

INSTRUCTOR: Lourdes Wright

Science is all around us. Formal Sciences (Math, Logic), Natural Sciences (Biology, Physics), Engineering and Technology, Medical Sciences (Anatomy, Genetics), Agricultural Sciences, Social Sciences (Psychology), Humanities (Anthropology) are all a part of our daily lives.

Course Objectives:

  •  Be informed about the Universe
  •  Learn about using the proper tools when conducting experiments
  •  Explore different agents and get curious about their physical as well as chemical reactions
  •  Hands-on Experiments and Cool Creations
  •  Learn the proper way to conduct an Experiment, including observing and writing conclusions from those observations

UKULELE CLASS
